Message from Bernie Hall DRS

Each year as a Caritas fundraiser, and to raise awareness of those who survive on a bowl of rice a day, St Mary’s School will participate in the Rice Day Challenge. Your child will be provided with rice for lunch. They are to bring a bowl/cup and spoon/fork and a gold coin donation.

All students are expected to participate. It is a good thing to allow your child to experience what having limited choices feels like and plain food tastes like. So please, unless your child has specific dietary requirements do not buy or provide a school lunch on this day.

Golden Time with Pompallier

On Friday, we had a special Golden Time just for Pompallier. The Pompallier teachers organised a giant water fight.  Everyone joined in and there were sponges flying everywhere! We were very proud of our Year 3-6 who were really kind and gentle towards our little Pompallier people.  They were not so kind to their poor old teachers, however! Poor, poor Mrs Todd and Mrs Tabuteau had to sit through assembly in soaking wet clothes (it's lucky that the weather played nicely).

Thank You,  Pompallier!

Mrs Todd, Mrs Mareroa, Mrs Waititi, Miss Ryan and Mrs Tabuteau
